Joint Equity is the new way to buy a home to live in and for investors to invest ethically in the UK residential market.
Here at Joint Equity we have a new business model that benefits home owners and investors jointly. But we also have a different focus: we want to help you buy your home and introduce you to our investors, so we work for you, unlike estate agents (who work for the seller) or Housing Associations (who have a social remit).

We have few restrictions or conditions unlike Housing Associations and that means you can buy the home you want to live in, we do not mind where it is nor do our Investors.
But because the property market is either very local, accessed through your local estate agent, or very portal focused. A portal is a site such as RightMove which charges estate agents to list their properties with them, they make their money from the listing charge not selling you the home.
Because of this you can find it difficult to access all the properties that are for sale and many properties are repeated on different portals.
Just as we have developed a new way of owning and financing property in the UK we need a new way for our people to access all the available property so that you can have the widest possible of homes.
We are therefore developing a simple search engine that will find every home advertised on every site whether it is on an estate agents own site, a portal or a meta search engine. And one that will not try to sell you lots of things you don’t want by clicking Google small ads.
Since a search engine that will do what we want in a way that fits with our ethical business approach does not exist we are developing our own. In the box above and to the right we will be providing progress details and soon a count down to launch

Development on the Joint Equity search engine has started and is part of the main web site and online Illustrator rebuild.
We are wary of any IT delivery dates as something always comes and bites us in the posterior. Even Microsoft get it wrong.
The original development programme was 16 weeks and we have added some serious bells and whistles that has slowed Simon and his team of programmers down.
Did you know that all programmers are related to vampires as they only seem to come out at night, and can not come to meetings until the afternoon?
Anyway we are hoping to launch as soon possible and as soon as we know we will publish here and on the main site.
